As part of the building work at the west end of our church we uncovered part of a previously unknown wall painting. Whilst we know that parts of St Mary’s have been painted in the past there is no record of any decoration in this part of the building.
We are excited about this discovery and eager to learn more about this part of our history, and we are working with the Diocese of Leeds, our architect and conservationists to decide on what to do next.
