Everyone is welcome to attend services here at St Mary’s. Whilst you are in our church building we ask that you follow these guidelines. They are here to help keep everybody safe.

If you have any questions you can always ask any of our stewards for help.

 No need to book

There is no need to book in advance to attend any of our services, but during busy times you may need to wait outside before we can safely let you in.

Stay home if you feel unwell

If you have any symptoms of COVID, do not attend a service with us. Instead, self-isolate and get a PCR test.

 Sanitise your hands

Please clean your hands using the provided hand sanitiser when entering and leaving the building.

 Keep your distance

Only use available pews, and be mindful of others when entering and leaving the church or waiting for communion. If you want to keep some extra space between yourself and others, we recommend sitting at the sides of the building where our pews remain distanced, or ask our stewards for guidance.

Check in for Test and Trace

When you enter the building we encourage you to scan the NHS Test and Trace QR Code with your NHS COVID-19 app.

Don’t shake hands during the Peace

We discourage shaking hands with people during the peace – a friendly nod or wave will do just as well.

Follow the instructions of our stewards

Please follow all instructions from our stewards, including keeping to any one-way systems and only sitting in available pews.

 Communion remains in one kind

Holy Communion will remain as bread only for the time being. This is still considered to be full communion by the Church of England.
