Shrove Tuesday Pancake Social

On Tuesday 25 February from 6.00 pm until 9.00 pm in the Community Centre. Pancakes, lemon juice, sugar and syrup provided, or bring your own toppings and any nibbles you fancy.

All ages welcome.

Ash Wednesday

Wednesday 26 February: Said Eucharist at 9.30 am and Sung Eucharist at 7.30 pm. Both services will include the Imposition of Ashes.

Lent at Whitkirk

On Tuesdays during lent, beginning from Tuesday 3 March at 7.30 pm there will be a course based on the TV series Broken. It will be preceded by a Said Eucharist at 7.00 pm.

On Wednesdays from Wednesday 4 March after the 9.30 am Eucharist our lent course “By way of the heart” – R S Thomas and the Poetry of Faith offers a time to discuss and reflect on some poems and how they might impact on our lives.

Defibrillator awareness session

A free session on how to use the new defibrillator will be held on Saturday 14 March at 11.30 am in the Community Centre. For more details and to register visit whitkirk.com/aed or speak to Nick Jackson.

Singing workshop

John Bell from the Iona Community will lead a Workshop on Saturday 6 June from 2.00 pm until 4.30 pm at Christ Church Halton. If you sing and are interested please see Lynne or Matthew to reserve a ticket, which cost £5.00, and bring a tin of food on the day for the local foodbank. Places limited.

Due to work being done on the Church path there will only be one Eucharist during this week, at 9.30 am on Wednesday in the Smeaton Room in the Community Centre. Gordon Cooper will be presiding.

Mothers’ Union

Prayer time in the Smeaton Room in the Community Centre at 10.10 am on Wednesday.

Palm crosses

If you would like your palm cross from last year to be burnt for use on Ash Wednesday please return it to the church.
